How does this help and protect us?No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.[1]
Well, This protects us by giving us the right to remain silent. Then people would use this to not answer questions until while they wait for their lawyer to answer and resolve the prosecution. This is usually to help people being accused and tried for a crime.

ReplyDeleteThat's True Taylon . Everyone has their rights . If the court doesn't allow them to have their rights , then they pleed the fifth . It wouldn't be fair to that person if they didn't have their rights .
ReplyDeleteYups, Peoples have the right to protect themself by remaining silent. Also cops don't have the rights to arrest people for the same crime. Good jobs taylon.
